Elders (or pastors) are biblically qualified men who oversee the local church, particularly through teaching God’s Word, praying, caring for church members, and training members to do the work of ministry. These are the men our congregation has recognized as elders.
PASTOR
Scott lives in Jacksonville, NC with his wife Katie and four children: Jaxson, McKenna, Emery, and Nora. Scott and his family have been part of the Pillar network since 2016 and previously had the pleasure of serving the church as deacons at Pillar Jax. Scott is currently serving as an active duty Marine. He has a passion for spreading the gospel within the workplace and military communities and discipling young men.
PASTOR
Mike recently moved from Jacksonville, NC to New Bern together with his wife, Michelle, and their two dogs Molly and Jersey.
They have four grown children scattered across the country, Colin, Shelby, Tucker, and Jake with his wife Elizabeth and Mike’s and Michelle’s grandsons, Noah and Ezra.
They call Denver, Colorado home as that is where they met and raised their kids. Mike and Michelle love to travel, Camp, hike, and fish.
Mike and Michelle are passionate about missions and discipling young adults, focusing primarily on single Marines and Sailors. Their desire is for these Marines, Sailors, and other young adults to know God, grow closer to Him, and pursue His will for their lives.
